There are five main types of report writing.

1. Bar chart : single bar , double bar and  complex bar charts.
2. Line graph : single line and double line.
3. Pie graph : single pie chart and double pie chart.
4. Table.
5. Process.

• decline , decrease , drop , fail.
• climb , rise , increase.
• soar , rocket , escalate.
• crash , colleapse , plummet , plunge.
• flatten out , hold steady , level off , stabilise.
• bounce - back , rally , recover.
• fluctuate , be eratic , be volatile , hover.

• Abrupt , sudden , rapid , quick , steady , gradual , slow.
• a rise from $10 to $12.
• to increase / fall by 50%.
• an increase of 7.5 percent  over last year.
• peak/bottom out/stabilize at 30%.
• reach a peak/low point of 10% 

Adjectives : 

Helpful words and pharases for describing graphs.

• UP-verbs : go to, take off , shoot up ,soar ,jump , increase , rise , grow , rocket , improve , climb , escalate.                                                                                                                                                 -Nouns : an increase,a rise,a growth,an improvement,an upturn,a surge,an upsurge.
• DOWN -verbs : go/come down , fall , drop , slump , plunge , slide , dip , decline , decrease , plummet , slip , shrink.                                                                                                                                             -Nouns : a fall ,  a decrease , a decline , a drop , a downturn , a downturn trend.
• NO CHANGE - verbs : remain stable ,  level off , stay at the same level , flatten off , remain constant , stagnate , stabilize , hold steady , reach a plateau.
• AT THE TOP - verbs : reach a peak , peak , top.
• AT THE BOTTOM - verbs : reach the low point , bottom out , reach a trough.
• RECOVER - pick up , bounce back , rally
